Bryant, Costin, Parsons

My interest in this site was occasioned by Janet Few’s article in the Isle of Wight FHS magazine.
My grandfather Philip Henry BRYANT (1871-1946) was originally a BC Minister. He married Eva Ellen COSTIN )1868-1931) who worked with him in a lay capacity.
Grandfather’s brother-in-law was Harry PARSONS (1878-1952) who worked with Sam Pollard in China with the Miao community. Harry’s two sons (Philip Kenneth and Richard Keith) also worked with the Miao. Both produced documents of their time there. In particular Kenneth completed an English/Miao dictionary. These documents, I believe, are deposited in School of Oriental and African Studies, London.

  • Dear Brother,
I was interested to hear about your grandfather, Phillip Henry Bryant, and would like to know if he was related to William Bryant, the founder of the Bible Christians.
I was also pleased to hear about his brother and nephews and their work in China, as Sam Pollard was one of my boyhood heroes.
I look forward to hearing from you
